1. 1. Take route 27 (you will go through 4 tolls, you need $ 5 one way).
2. 2. Reach Caldera and continue until connecting with route 1.
3. 3. Drive 17 kilometers on route 1 to the gas station "Rancho Grande".
4. 4. Turn right and drive 3KM to Sardinal; in the football square, turn left and drive for 31KM until Hotel Tropico Monteverde (last 15KM are in ballast).

Departure: Manuel Antonio

1. 1. Take route 34 and drive 105KM (you will go through 1 toll, you need $ 1 one way) and connect with route 27 in Orotina towards Caldera.
2. 2. Reach Caldera and continue until connecting with route 1.
3. 3. Drive 17 kilometers on route 1 to the gas station "Rancho Grande".

1. 1. Take Route 1 to the South and drive 73 KM.
2. 2. At the Gas Station La Irma exit Route 1 and turn left towards the boards of Abangares on route 145 (100 meters after the church turn left - WARNING! Do not go straight).
3. 3. On route 145 stay for 28KM until you connect with route 606 towards Santa Elena Monteverde.
4. 4. From the store "Super Compro" in Santa Elena downtown, take 2,3KM towards the South in route 606 until Hotel Tropico Monteverde (the last 16KM are in ballast).

Departure: La Fortuna / Arenal Volcano

Rental car | Duration: 2 hours and 30 minutes

1. 1. Take Ruta 142 towards Tilarán for 2 hours surrounding the Arenal lake; Once in Tilarán, take route 145 for 40KM towards Monteverde and connect with route 606 towards Santa Elena Monteverde.
2. 2. From the store "Super Compro" in Santa Elena downtown take 2,3KM towards the South in route 606 until Hotel Tropico Monteverde (the last 30KM are in ballast).
